The Pinehurst Experience 2018

The Pinehurst Experience  2018

April 9th  to April 15th

Pinehurst is  the home of golf in America. Walk beneath the whispering pines and you’ll understand the wonder Donald Ross experienced as he first surveyed the property in 1901…and the exhilaration Payne Stewart felt in his stunning 1999 U.S. Open victory on No. 2.

Golf is as much a part of Pinehurst as the pines themselves. There’s a reverence for the game found here that lives in the traditions, championships and legends that have made Pinehurst one of the most storied golf resorts in the world and a must-play for all golfers.

Following on from our US Masters 2018 Tour we are proud to offer you this magnificent Pinehurst Experience.

After departing Augusta  we take a short drive to North Carolina and arrive at the  Pinehurst Resort.

After lunch we will play the Pinehurst No 8 Course. Building a new course grand enough to celebrate Pinehurst’s first 100 years might intimidate some architects, but Tom Fazio took on the assignment with gusto. No. 8 – which opened in 1996 – combines classic Donald Ross concepts with the whimsical snarls that have become Fazio’s calling card.

Each day follows with golf at the Pinehurst No 2 Course, Tobacco Road and the wonderful Pine Needles Course. This is golfing heaven.

And our accommodation is something special as well.

Some say you can feel the spirit of Pinehurst as you turn onto Carolina Vista. This majestic century-old hotel with its signature copper cupola and sweeping verandas make you feel as though you’ve stepped back in time to an era when elegance defined grand hotels and resorts. Dubbed the “Queen of the South,” the Carolina has 230 Four-Diamond guest rooms, including suites.

Itinerary

Monday    April 9th

Depart Augusta and drive to Pinehurst Resort , North Carolina. After lunch play the Pinehurst no 8 Course.

Tuesday    April 10th

Golf today on the Pinehurst No 2 Course. Opened in 1907, No. 2 was designed by Donald Ross, who called it “the fairest test of championship golf I have ever designed.”

Wednesday April 11th

Play Golf  today again on Pinehurst No 2. The centerpiece of Pinehurst Resort, remains one of the world’s most celebrated golf courses.

Thursday    April 12th

Golf today at the fabulous Tobacco Road Golf Club. Established in 1998, Tobacco Road is younger than many of the courses it has surpassed in its accumulation of accolades. Tom discovered this course on our 2016 Tour and declared it the “ best I have ever played”.

Friday    April 13th

Venture again to play Tobacco Road because once is not enough. Tobacco Road Golf Club was built on land tended by the weather-worn hands of tobacco farmers, later shaped and moved through mining and sand excavation before finally being crafted and molded by an artist’s imagination and the revolutionary eye of the late Mike Strantz.

Saturday  April 14th

Play golf today on the Donald Ross designed Pine Needles. No course has hosted the Women’s U.S. Open in the last 15 years more times than Donald Ross classic Pine Needles (1996, 2001, and 2007). Built in 1928, Donald Ross provided generous fairways and challenging green sites.

Sunday   April 15th

All good things must come to an end.

After checking out of the Pinehurst resort we transfer you to the Raleigh Durham International airport (RDU) which has nonstop flights from most major US cities.
