Hi everyone,

Here are a few words re our Italian trip. There are all sorts of stories to tell but too much to print I guess. If the story has any interest to you more than is written maybe you could call me. We are definitely going back next year with improvements having learnt some things this year. We had a great group of people who mixed and traveled well together, most of them did something in Europe on their own before or after the golf and had some great stories about that as well. So if you have any interest for 2008 keep the best part of Sept free. The golf tour will begin on Saturday 13th September and go for 14 days. The non golfers had a ball also and did some serious damage in the shopping competition as well as ticking some boxes in the life experience and sightseeing areas.

Cheers Tom.

Golf under the Tuscan Sun - 2007

Tom Linskey of Australian Golf Schools has wanted to show Italian Golf to his clients for many years. This September was when it finally happened. Six couples, of whom only one wife played and one male whose wife sent him on his own, accompanied Tom and Suzie Linskey on the 14 day odyssey.

Rounds at Olgiata, Le Querce and Acquasanta, a visit to St Peter’s Basilica, guest status at the Premier of Jodie Foster’s new film ‘The Brave One’ and spectacular dinners at Trastevere and Sutri sure filled up the first four days in Rome.

This was followed by some serious shopping in Firenze, you know – the Prada and Gucci outlets, Ponte Vecchio, that sort of thing! Oh, and rounds at Le Pavoniere, Versilia and Poggio Dei Medici for the golfers. We stayed at a Tuscan Farmhouse Villa to die for – ‘Casa Bini’ whose manager, Francesco, played bus driver and shopping guide for the girls while the golfers did their thing. The weather was picture perfect and the food and wine was out of this world.

After four nights there, we moved north to Lake Garda near Verona for six nights and more adventures. The golfers played some sensational courses like Gardagolf, Franciacorta and Arzaga with a match against the members at La Rossera being a tour highlight. The ‘shoppers’ spent a couple of days of relaxation wandering around the beautiful city of Salo then explored Bergamo through the day before joining the golfers at La Rossera for a gala dinner. Most of the group slipped down to Venice for the last day of the tour while the die hards had another go at Gardagolf.

All in all the trip was fantastic and it is on again next year so keep September free. The probable starting date at the moment is 4th September in Rome. For more info email tom@australiangolfschools.com.au  or call 0412 072 145.
