Curriculum

There are two phases required in your search to improve your golf game:

1. Learning to hit the shots, which is done primarily on the practice area; and
2. Taking those shots learnt onto the golf course and executing them effectively.

At Australian Golf Schools, we offer the ideal environment to improve your game and lower your handicap by spending the correct amount of time with you on both the practice range and on the golf course. On the practice fairway we will work on your full swing and on your short game so that you fully understand the concepts required. Then you will play 18 holes each day with your coach receiving golf instruction in actual playing conditions and situations. During your Australian Golf Schools lessons, you will receive valuable advice on how to play a golf course to the best of your ability. All types of trouble shots will be experienced from the rough, fairway bunkers, over and around water, side hill lies, etc. 

As well as helping you with your game, we will help you with your equipment ensuring that your clubs are correctly fitted. We will also help you understand the Rules of Golf. 

Putting
During your time with us you will learn drills and procedures that we guarantee will improve your putting. You will learn to read the greens and be able to effectively handle slopes. You will also learn the secrets of making those 3 and 4 foot putts which turn an average score into a good score.

Chipping
The simple chipping techniques we will teach you will immediately improve your scoring. You will learn which club to use from where and how to get up and down in two shots most of the time.

Pitching
Pitching is a science learnt easily by children but with some difficulty by most adults. Australian Golf Schools will teach you how to play these most important shots with confidence. Pitch shots vary from easy shots with room to run the ball back to the hole to very tricky flop shots over bunkers to a tight hole position. Include those shots you get when you are on a tight lie, in the rough, behind a mound or water and you realise how important they are.

Bunkers & Traps
We will cover all the different types of bunker shots you find while playing. We will convince you that normal bunker shots are the easiest shots in golf. We will take away any doubt you have and send you home confident about this ‘fearful’ part of the game.

Short irons
Short irons are the scoring clubs and we will show you how to become extremely consistent with these clubs.

Long and mid irons
The Australian Golf Schools experience will improve your ability to hit consistent long and mid irons. We will show you the variations needed to accommodate uphill, downhill and side hill lies. Your percentages will improve which translates to better scoring opportunities.

Fairway woods
Fairway woods have become a whole new science since the invention of metal heads. We will assess your game and show you how to use the correct assortment of these clubs for your personal ability.

Driving
‘Drive for show - putt for dough’ has always been a standard cliché of some value but if you cannot get the ball into play consistently your putter is going to be under too much pressure. We will show you how to drive the ball further and straighter and, most importantly, to understand why!

Swing Analysis Equipment and Teaching Aids
At Australian Golf Schools we use State of the Art equipment to video and analyse your swing. You will take home a personalised tape or DVD which summarises the instruction you have received during your time with us.
